Summer heat can be stressful for many people. High temperatures often lead to fatigue, swollen feet, and a general feeling of discomfort. Therefore, it's worthwhile to integrate a few simple measures into your daily routine.

In our podiatry practice, we also make sure to create a pleasant indoor climate for our clients. We thoroughly ventilate the practice early in the morning. Afterwards, the windows are closed and the blinds are lowered. This keeps the heat out and the rooms pleasantly cool.

During our lunch break, we like to treat ourselves to a little refreshment – for example, a delicious ice cream or a homemade iced tea. Staying hydrated is especially important on hot days.

What helps in extreme heat?

✅ Drink plenty of water or unsweetened tea

✅ Shift physical activities to the early morning or evening hours

✅ Wear light and airy clothing

✅ Seek out shady spots

✅ Refresh your feet with a cool foot bath

✅ Use bathing or swimming to cool down

✅ Prefer light meals such as salads, fruits and vegetables

✅ Ventilate rooms in the morning and darken them during the day

✅ Elevate your legs and feet from time to time

Feet often suffer from heat and swelling in the summer. A short foot bath or a few minutes barefoot on a cool meadow can work wonders.

Our tip: Listen to your body and take regular short breaks.

Here's how to get through the hot summer days relaxed and healthy.
